Entry info & Awards

The Vienna Youth Music Competition is open to musicians worldwide, up to 25 years of age.

The Competition comprises two online rounds.

Participation & Fees

Entry to the Preliminary Round is free of charge.

Finalists advancing to the Final Round will be required to pay a £50 administrative fee (non-refundable).

How to participate

Submit one YouTube or other viewable link on the “Application” page.

Only one video link is allowed (may include several pieces recorded on different dates, but each piece must be a continuous performance).

The video must be recorded within 24 months before the application date, with a maximum length of 15 minutes. Multiple camera angles are allowed. Accompaniment is optional. Only candidates selected in the preliminary round will advance to the final round. The same video will be used for both rounds.

Voice: Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, Bass

Percussion: Vibraphone, Marimba, Snare Drum, Multiple Percussion Setup, Timpani, Drum Set, Hand Percussion

Composition: Original Composition, Arrangement / Transcription, Rescoring of Film / Game Music

Chamber Music: Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet, String Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Wind Quintet, Reed Quintet, Others

A: 7 years and under

B: 8–10 years

C: 11–13 years

D: 14–17 years

E: 18-21 years

F: 22-25 years

2. Marking System

  • First Prize – awarded to competitors scoring at least 95-100

  • Second Prize – awarded to competitors scoring at least 85-94

  • Third Prize – awarded to competitors scoring at least 75-84

  • Special Mention – awarded to competitors scoring at least 65-74

  • Honorary Mention – awarded to competitors scoring at least 60

The number of awards is not limited.

⭐One overall winner will receive the title of “Grand Prix Winner”, along with a certificate and medal, which will be shipped to their address free of charge.

3. Schedule

  • October 30th, 2025 – Preliminary Round deadline (Free Application)

  • November 1st–7th, 2025 – Reviewing & judging of submitted videos

  • November 8th–9th, 2025 – Notification of approved contestants

  • November 8th–12th, 2025 – Final Round application & administrative fee payment

  • November 25th, 2025 – Announcement of Final Round results 

4. Certificates & Awards

Only participants who have advanced to the Final Round and paid the service fee will receive an official e-certificate of participation after the winners’ announcement via email.​

  • ⭐One overall winner will receive the title of “Grand Prix Winner”, together with a paper certificate and a medal, which will be shipped to their address free of charge.

  • First, Second, and Third Prize winners will receive official e-certificates and e-posters. Honorary Mention recipients will receive official e-certificates and e-posters.

  • E-certificates of recognition will be issued to outstanding music teachers (upon request).

  • Winners may also order a printed certificate and medal as a keepsake after the results are announced, subject to an additional fee.

Selected top prize winners will be featured on our official website and social media channels (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) with a concert portrait, biography, and their prize-winning video.

If finalists wish to receive comments or feedback from the jury, an additional fee of £20 will be required. All decisions of the competition and its jury are binding and final.
